Retrofit Program

(CHERP)


Are you a Cuyama resident looking to make energy-efficient home improvements? Blue Sky Center, in partnership with Santa Barbara County, is offering the CHERP program to provide customer support and partial funding for upgrades on 20 Cuyama Valley homes.

Potential Projects:

  • Heat Pump Water Heater

  • Electric Panel Upgrade

  • Heat Pump | Heating and Cooling System

  • Solar and Battery System

  • Home Insulation 

There are regional, state, and federal incentives available for home improvement including heat pump systems, solar and battery installations, and home insulation. An additional $2,500 per home is available to help reduce project costs for Cuyama residents that work with CHERP enrolled contractors. Cuyama residents enrolled in utility CARE or FERA discounted utility rates may access an additional $5,000 towards these projects for a total of up to $7,500 through the CHERP program. Process - How

Cuyama Resident Journey: 

Step 1: Resident completes Interest Form

Step 2: County contacts resident discuss project options 

Step 3: County connects Contractor with Resident 

Step 4: Contractor presents discounted or free project options to Resident 

Step 5: Resident signs incentive paperwork 

Step 6: Project is completed by Contractor 

The County is available throughout the process to answer questions.
